William Moore Massey, Jr

AIKEN, SC - Mr. William Moore Massey, Jr., 76, loving husband of Nita Richardson Massey, passed away Friday, July 14, 2017. A memorial service will be held 2:00 PM Sunday, July 16, 2017 at the Shellhouse Funeral Home Chapel with minister Craig Middleton officiating. The family will receive friends following the service. Honorary pallbearers will be the Men of Tuesday Morning Bible Class.   Born in Nashville, TN, Mr. Massey was the son of the late William Moore Massey, Sr. and Rosa Belle Pillow Massey. After graduating from The McCallie School, Mr. Massey attended the Georgia Institute of Technology where he graduated with a PhD. He had been a resident of Aiken for the last 40 years and worked as an engineer for DuPont and Westinghouse SRP. Mr. Massey was a member of Aiken Church of Christ. He was also a member of the South Carolina Association of Knifemakers.    In addition to his wife, Mr. Massey is survived by his daughter, Michelle (Phil) Stillman, Charlotte, NC; two sons, Greg (Kim) Massey, Atlanta, GA, William Ray (Dana) Massey, Aiken; six grandchildren, Will Stillman, Corey Stillman, Ethan Massey, Alex Massey, Stern Massey and McCall Massey.   In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Savannah River Cancer Foundation, CanHope Foundation, PO Box 3694, Aiken, SC 29802 or to the Southeastern Children's Home, P.O.
