Tommy David Graham, Sr.

November 6, 1947 — April 9, 2023

AIKEN, SC - Tommy David Graham, Sr., 75 years of age, joined the Resurrection celebration in Heaven on Sunday, April 9, 2023. He passed peacefully at home with family and his faithful pup by his side.

David was born November 6, 1947 in Dublin, Georgia where he spent most of his life.  He was a graduate of East Laurens High School and earned an accounting degree from Middle GA College.  A farmer in his younger days, he and his wife, Pat, even earned the honor of being named the National Young Farm Couple of the Year in 1976.  But after two summers of especially hard weather, he made the difficult decision to leave farming and went to work for Southeast Paper Mill until his retirement. After that, he and Pat (and their pup, Buddy) followed another dream of travelling in their RV until settling in Aiken, South Carolina to be near their children.

David had a humble, genuine faith. He enjoyed his years as a Gideon and remained a member of Minter Baptist Church in Dublin.

He loved his family.  He was a quiet cheerleader and made sure to wear the right team cap and colors to support his grandkids’ various sports teams.

For all of his strength, David was equally tenderhearted.  He was always willing to take the boys deer hunting on the farm, but never hunted himself.  He had a love for all animals.

David is survived by his wife of 54 years, Patricia (Pat) Stuckey Graham, his son David Graham, Jr. (Ruthie), daughter Jenny Yarborough (Robbie), and grandchildren Hayley (Brandon), Jayme, Ryley, Joshua, Emma Grace, Jay Jay, Cross, Anderson, and Jeremiah. David is also survived by his sister, Gayle M. Johnson, and brother James C. Graham (Linda). He was preceded in death by his parents, James Hillary and Theola Chalker Graham.

A celebration of David’s life will be held Wednesday, April 19th at 11am at the home of his daughter Jenny in Aiken. All are welcome for a backyard meal and fellowship, just as he would have loved. Please contact any family members for address/directions.
