NEW ELLENTON, SC – THELMA DALTON KIRBY, 92, widow of Robert Charles Kirby, passed away Tuesday, May 31, 2022 at Lakeside Place Senior Living in Lexington.
A native of Gaffney, SC, Thelma was a daughter of the late Kelly Frank and Mae Bright Dalton. She lived in New Ellenton since 1954 and retired as the office manager for Aiken Electric Co-Op in New Ellenton. She was a member of Corinth Baptist Church.
Survivors include her daughter, Teri Kirby, Gilbert, SC; sons, Barry Kirby (Lisa), Gilbert, SC, Jerry Kirby (Kelly), Jefferson, SC; grandchildren, Benjamin Kirby (Toni-Marie), Lilly Elizabeth Kirby, Emilyn Kirby, Kenan Kirby; step grandchildren, Laura Switzer (Dave), Eric Wolfe; great-grandson, Thompson Rhett Kirby; step great-granddaughters, Caroline and Annie Switzer; sisters, Lib Hill and Jean McGaha.
The funeral will be Friday morning, June 3rd at 10 o'clock, cryptside in the Southlawn Cemetery Mausoleum with The Rev. Mike Yates officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital (stjude.org).
