Terry McDonald

April 4, 1950 — July 20, 2021

GRANITEVILLE, SC – TERRY WAYNE McDONALD, 71, beloved husband of Susan McDonald, passed away unexpectedly Tuesday, July 20, 2021 while hiking in Hitchcock Woods.

A native of Winchester, VA, Terry was a son of Betty Wilson and the late Kenneth Winton McDonald.  He earned a B.S. in Computer Science from Virginia Tech.  He lived in Aiken County since 1985 and was a retired independent computer consultant.  He was a member of St. John’s United Methodist Church.  Terry loved to travel and had a particular interest in the National Parks, of which he had visited all but six.  He had a natural curiosity for all things and was a life-long learner.  Most importantly he dearly loved his family and will be deeply missed.

Survivors, in addition to his wife Susan include his mother, Betty of Oldtown, FL; daughter, Katie Thomas (Polo), Abbeville, SC.  In addition to his father, Terry was preceded in death by his grandson, Brandon Thomas and sister, Sandra Kyzer.

A memorial service will be held Friday afternoon, July 23rd at 3 o’clock at St. John’s United Methodist Church with The Revs. Dr. W. Timothy McClendon and Grayson “Butch” Blackwell officiating.  Inurnment will be in the church’s columbarium.  The service will be livestreamed at (stjaiken.org)
