Steven D. McQuillen

Steven Dean McQuillen, beloved son of Nancy (Hamilton) McQuillen and the late Ronald D. McQuillen, was born on May 11, 1958, in Ashland, Ohio. He passed away unexpectedly Thursday, October 23, 2025 in Aiken, SC

Steve graduated from Mansfield Christian High School and Ashland University. Following his education he worked in the family printing and office supply business in Mansfield, before moving to Columbus, Ohio, working in marketing and food service.

Music was at the heart of Steve's life. He dedicated many years to playing guitar and keyboard in various bands throughout Ohio, most recently forming a band in Aiken, SC. His passion for music was matched by his enthusiasm for sports, as he was an avid fan of the Cleveland Browns, Ohio State Buckeyes, and Cleveland Cavaliers, often cheering loudly for his teams.

Steve is survived by his mother, Nancy McQuillen of Aiken, South Carolina, sisters Diane (Alan) Stuart, Aiken, SC and Marcy Schuster, Mansfield, Ohio along with many neices and nephews whom he loved dearly.

The family will receive friends Tuesday morning, October 28th, beginning at 10 o’clock at Shellhouse – Rivers Funeral Home. The funeral service will follow at 11 o’clock.

Additional funeral services will take place Friday, October 31st at 11 'clock at Snyder Funeral Home, 2553 Lexington Ave., Mansfield, OH 44904 with interment following in Mansfield Memorial Park in Ontario, Ohio.  Steve's cousin, Jack Kehl will officiate.
