Steve Brewer

HAROLD STEPHEN “STEVE” BREWER, 70, cherished husband of Paula J. Smith Brewer, passed away unexpectedly on December 10, 2025, at Aiken Regional Medical Centers.

Born in Salem, OH, Steve was the loving son of the late Harold Herbert and Ruth Ann McTague Brewer. After completing high school, he pursued higher education at Kent State University, where he graduated before earning his MBA from Ashland University. In 2003, Steve relocated to Aiken to further his career with Hubbell Power Systems, where he enjoyed great success until his retirement in 2017; he continued to provide valuable consulting for the company for several years thereafter.

Steve had a passion for travel, exploring all seven continents and visiting each of the 50 states. He was known for his adventurous palate, enjoying various spicy foods and hot sauces. A dedicated Steelers fan, Steve embraced the spirit of compromise while married to a Browns fan.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 45 years, Paula, and their two children, Stephanie Ann Prior (Eric) and Matthew Paul Brewer (Maura). He was preceded in death by his brother, Bruce Brewer.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday evening, December 17th, from 6 to 8 o’clock at Shellhouse – Rivers Funeral Home.
