Shirley Battle Lloyd

CENTRAL ISLIP, NY - SHIRLEY BATTLE LLOYD, 85, widow of Milledge Lloyd, passed away Tuesday, June 8, 2021 in Central Islip, NY.

A native of Montmorenci, SC, Shirley was a daughter of the late P. J. and Ethel Andrews Battle.  She was a caregiver and had lived most of her life on Long Island.  She had an infectious laugh, quick wit and wonderful sense of humor.  Shirley was a former foster parent and cared for other children for 30 plus years.  She was an avid gardener and loved beautiful flowers.  She was a member of Old Zion Hill Baptist Church.

Survivors include two daughters, Naomi Williams (Melvin), Central Islip, NY, Sandra Penn, Aiken; two sons, Milton Lloyd (Tomeko), New York, NY, Daniel Lloyd, Long Island, NY; a sister, Blanche Riley, Beech Island; a brother, Perry Battle (Bridgett), Ridge Spring; three grandchildren, Tyrae Williams, Tamia Wade, Kamiko Wade.  In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by two sons, Maurice Lloyd and Robert Lloyd and a son-in-law, Michael Penn

The family will receive friends Wednesday evening, June 16^th from 5 until 7 o’clock at Shellhouse – Rivers Funeral Home

The funeral service will be Thursday afternoon, June 17^th at 1 o’clock at the funeral home.  The service will be livestreamed on the Shellhouse – Rivers Funeral Home Facebook page ( Interment will follow in Sunset Memory Gardens.
