Shirley Young Key

  NEW ELLENTON, SC – SHIRLEY YOUNG KEY, 72, widow of John Martin Key, entered into rest Monday, November 13, 2017 at Augusta University Medical Center. A native of Batesburg, SC, Shirley was a daughter of the late William Edward Young, Sr. and Vivian Bridges Young.  She was a homemaker and lived most of her life in New Ellenton.  She was a member of Talatha Baptist Church and the Order of the Eastern Star. Survivors include her daughter, Wanda Shepard, Aiken; grandchildren, Brandon Smith, Justin Smith, Haley Key, Colt Key; 4 great-grandchildren; daughter-in-law, Tamara Key, Aiken; son-in-law Dr. Gary Shepard, Aiken; sister, Brenda Rollings, Aiken; brother, James E. “Jimmy” Young, Aiken; Dawn Smith, granddaughter-in-law, Aiken. In addition to her husband and parents, Shirley was preceded in death by her son, John Martin “Marty” Key, Jr., and brother, William E. “Billy” Young, Jr. Visitation is Thursday at 2:00 at Talatha Baptist Church followed by the service at 3:00. The Rev.
