Sarah Barefoot Poole

AIKEN, SC – SARAH B. POOLE, 85, wife of the late David L. Poole, died Wednesday, November 7, 2018 at University Hospital, Augusta, GA.

Born in Lexington County, SC, Sarah was a daughter of the late David V. and Rebecca S. Barefoot. She lived most of her life in Aiken County and was a homemaker.

Survivors include three stepchildren, Flora Ann Brock, Mary Elizabeth Ripley, David L. Poole, Jr., all of Florida; two sisters, Mavis Ryder, Aiken, Willa Mae “Sue” Norris, Beech Island; a brother, Luke Barefoot, North Augusta; several nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Onnie L. Barefoot.

The family will receive friends Monday afternoon, November 12^th beginning at 1 o’clock at Shellhouse – Rivers Funeral Home. The funeral will follow at 2 o’clock with The Rev. Frank Barker of Immanuel Baptist Church officiating. Interment will be in Aiken Memorial Gardens.  Pallbearers:  Alan Ryder, Ken Ryder, David Fitzherbert, Jeff Collins, James Barefoot and Donald Baxley.
