Ruby Pauline Buchanan

Ruby Buchanan, born in Rabun County, GA to Genie Bell and Sam Tyler passed away at age 89 on September 12, 2025. She lived most of her life in Rabun County, GA and Anderson, SC.

Ruby is survived by two daughters, Dianne Martin (Lynn) of Pearland, TX, and Debbie Byrd (Philip Frew) of Aiken, SC. She also has one granddaughter, Courtney Mills (John), and a great-grandson, Tripp Mills. She has one surviving sister, Joyce Sullivan (Dan), Cornelia, GA and brother-in-law, Floyd Buchanan, Cashiers, NC.

Ruby is preceded in death by her husband of 67 years, Nick Buchanan, grandson, Joey Messick, four sisters, and two brothers.

Ruby gave an abundance of joy to her friends and family through laughter, silliness and sense of humor. She loved sewing, crafts, and family get togethers in their home. She will be greatly missed.

A graveside service will be held for her and her husband Nick Buchanan, who passed on December 7, 2023 at Oaklawn Memorial Park, Hwy 81, Anderson, SC on Friday September 19, 2025 at 1:00 PM.
