EDGEFIELD, SC – ROY FRANCIS STEWART, 65, beloved husband of Monika Hampel Stewart, passed away suddenly Wednesday, June 23, 2021 in Clinton, SC.
A native of Aiken County, Roy was a son of Betty Stallings and was raised by his grandparents, Henry and Frances Stewart at Camp Gravitt. He worked at Camp Gravitt until he retired and became a poultry farmer. Roy was very humble and kind and he never met a stranger.
Survivors include his wife Monika; son, Henry Stewart, Saluda; step daughter, Deirdre Corbett (Craig), Saluda, SC; step sons, Patrick Caldron, (Brandy), Ward, SC, Michael Parrish (Ashley), Ridge Spring, SC; four grandchildren, Connor and Chloe Sanford, Claudia and Lydia Caldron; sisters, Jeannie Moseley (Joey), Aiken, Elaine Godfrey (Gregg), Aiken; brothers, John Hook (Paula), Aiken, Tim Hook (Carol), Aiken; step sister, Lynn Tribble (Danny), Lexington, SC; aunt, Pearl Cantrell, Charleston, SC and a number of nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents and grandparents, he was preceded in death by a step son, Joseph Pickering.
The family will receive friends Saturday afternoon, June 26th beginning at noon at Shellhouse-Rivers Funeral Home. The funeral service will be at 1 o’clock in the funeral chapel. Interment will follow in Graniteville Cemetery. The Rev. Scotty Brock will officiate. Pallbearers will be Kyle Sanford, Jimmy Sanford, Joseph Watson, John Hook, Jr., Jody Moseley and Thomas Coleman.
