Robert Forbes "Bob" Leith

September 25, 1940 — October 27, 2022

AIKEN, SC - Robert Forbes Leith "Bob", 82, passed from this life at home after an extended illness on Thursday, October 27, 2022 in the loving arms of his wife, Susan. He adored her, and he was her prince. They were married nearly 34 years having lived in Rochelle, Illinois before moving to Cedar Creek in Aiken, South Carolina in 2005. Bob was born September 25, 1940 and grew up on the grounds of the Elgin Country Club where his father, William F. Leith, originally from Cruden, Aberdeenshire, Scotland, was the golf pro and his mother, Gladys Speaker Leith was the bookkeeper. He graduated from Elgin High School, Class of 1958, and attended Aurora University. While in junior high, he became a STAR Scout, earning the Merit Badge "God & Country" by cleaning his church, First Congregational Church of Elgin, on weekend for an entire year. Bob earned many professional certificates while working in middle management for 39 years at Nicor Gas in Naperville, IL. He was admired and respected by his fellow employees and missed only one day of work in those 39 years. Bob also managed the Rochelle Country Club for many years and had been the accountant for Fox and Hound Realty since 2011. His dedicated work ethic was evident throughout all his employments. Bob was a "Die Hard" Cubs fan, with so many fun memories at Wrigley Field with his special life-long friend, Bob Cutler, as well as other family members. He was an avid golfer, coming from a family of golfers, and enjoyed each of his two "holes-in- one." He loved music, cross word puzzles, and competitive family games. He had a forgiving heart, a memory like a "steel trap," and he was always telling silly jokes. He always put his family before himself and wholeheartedly loved his six children and was immensely proud of his thirteen grandchildren. Bob has been such a positive influence on our families. He leaves behind, his wife, Susan; daughter, Karie (Bob) Lukas, Crown Point, IN, and their children, Abbey (Nick) Hollis, Ian, Aaron & Jack Lukas; son, Scot (Jeannie) Leith, Houston, TX, and their children, Elena, Audrey, Alec & Quinn Leith; Jamie Prentice, Atlanta, GA, and her sons, Logan and Christian Prentice; Scot (Debra) Hollonbeck, Atlanta, GA, and their daughter, Abby Hollonbeck; Dr. Sean Hollonbeck, Col.
