RICHARD HALLIDAY WOOD, 87, beloved husband of Patricia Nyfeler Wood, passed away in his home, surrounded by his loving family, Saturday, December 3, 2022.

A native of White Plains, NY, Dick was a son of the late Harold Percy and Catherine Lowe Wood.  He was a dairy farmer in upstate New York for 23 years.  He moved to Aiken in 1985 from Schodack Landing, NY and was a salesman with John Deere Equipment Co.  He raised hay on his farm in Aiken and also did small equipment repair.  His family called him “The MacGyver of Everything”.  He was also active in Antique Farm Equipment shows.

Surviving, in addition to his wife of 63 years, Pat, include his son, Kenneth Scott Wood (Stephanie); two daughters, Heidi Elizabeth Behymer (Stewart), Bonnie Marie Reedy, all of Aiken; eight grandchildren.

A Celebration of Dick’s Life will be held Saturday afternoon, December 10th at 3 o’clock at Shellhouse – Rivers Funeral Home with The Rev. Wes Holbrook officiating.  A reception will follow at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to Equine Rescue of Aiken (aikenequinerescue.org) or to FOTAS (fotasaiken.org).
