Rafael A. Montalvo-Lugo

RAFAEL A. MONTALVO-LUGO, 82, beloved husband of Brenda White Montalvo, passed away Tuesday, April 2, 2024 in his home surrounded by his loving family.

A native of Cabo Rojo, PR, Rafael was born to the late Rafael and Carmen Montalvo-Lugo. In the early 1960s, he relocated to Bronx, NY where he lived and worked until returning to Puerto Rico in 1990. Subsequently, in 2004 Rafael made North Carolina his home until moving to Monetta in 2019. He was passionate about sailing and shared his love for the sea by teaching sailing and working as a yacht broker. Additionally, Rafael had a deep affection for animals and found joy in writing poetry and woodworking.
 
Rafael is survived by his wife, Brenda; his daughter Diahann M. Acosta (Frank) of Aiken; along with two granddaughters Deanna Acosta (Stephen Lawrence) and Marissa Acosta.
