AIKEN, SC - RACHEL ELIZABETH REDD, 69, beloved wife of Terry J. Redd, passed away Sunday, November 21, 2021 at Anchor Rehab and Health Care Center.
Born in Union, SC, Rachel was a daughter of the late Joe Rodger and Dorothy Vaughn Fant. She lived most her life in Aiken. She was a member of The Well. Rachel taught Kindergarten at South Aiken Baptist Christian School for several years while her two sons attended school there. Rachel was a dedicated employee with Sears, and retired as an inventory manager.
Rachel will be remembered by her family and close friends as one who always put others before herself. They will remember what a great listener she was, when you needed someone to talk to. Rachel deeply loved her children and grandchildren, they were her pride and joy. Most importantly, she will be known as a believer in the Lord Jesus Christ as her personal Savior.
Survivors, in addition to her husband of 51 years, Terry, include two sons, Jason Redd (Leslie) and Bryan Redd (Dee Dee); three grandchildren, Evan Redd (Daisy), Tyler Cornwell, Chase Redd and a brother, Rodger Fant, all of Aiken.
The family will receive friends Friday afternoon November 26th beginning at 12:30 PM at The Well, 265 Wire Rd., Aiken, SC 29801. The funeral service will follow at 2 o'clock. Interment will be in Aiken Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers will be Evan Redd, Tyler Cornwell, Chase Redd, Aaron Campbell, Wayne Murphy, Daniel J. Pittman and Jason Tufts.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to the American Cancer Society (cancer.org), Shriner's Hospitals for Children (lovetotherescue.org) or to South Aiken Baptist Christian School (sabcschool.org).
