Paula Blackmon Keaton

Paula Keaton,67, passed away unexpectedly at her home in Aiken, South Carolina, Monday, May 18, 2026.

Paula was born October 5, 1958, in Rock HIll, SC. She graduated from the University of South Carolina School of Journalism in 1980 and committed her life to journalism and media. She began her career as a reporter and then editor for the Aiken Standard. She was also the editor of Aiken County Magazine. Later, Paula became the owner of Keaton Productions, a marketing and media consulting firm, through which she helped businesses and organizations convey their messages effectively and creatively.

Paula was a former member of the Aiken Sunrise Rotary Club and held the respected distinction of Paul Harris Fellow. Paula was preceded in death by her parents, William Robert and Peggy McNorrill Blackmon, and her sister, Jane Tinsley. She is survived by her husband of 36 years, Kenneth E. Keaton, and stepsons, Joshua Keaton (Jessica) and Darrell Keaton (Amy), all of Aiken and grandchildren, Skylar and Linken.

The family will receive friends Tuesday morning, May 26th beginning at 10 o'clock at Shellhouse-Rivers Funeral Home. The funeral service will follow at 11 o'clock. Interment will be in Historic Bethany Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Larry Wood, Thurmond Whatley, Chris Alverson and Jarrell Gibson.
