Patricia "Patsy" O'Neal Lewis, a devoted homemaker, passed away peacefully Wednesday, June 3, 2026, at her home in Aiken, SC, surrounded by the comforting presence of her loving daughter, Lynn Louis.

Patsy was born on August 18, 1931, in Anderson, South Carolina. She grew up in Augusta, Georgia and graduated from Tubman High School, and later worked as an administrative assistant at The Medical College of Georgia. Throughout her years, she nurtured a legacy rooted firmly in her steadfast belief to put God first: to read the Bible every day, engage in daily devotional practice, pray earnestly each day, and serve God with unwavering faith. She was a longtime member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church and served on the alter guild.

A gifted artist, Patsy found beauty and solace in painting flowers and landscapes, creating vivid works that reflected her keen eye for nature’s gentle wonders. Unfortunately, as her eyesight dimmed, she was no longer able to continue her art, yet the colors and scenes she captured remain a lasting tribute to her talent and passion.

Patsy enjoyed the simple pleasures of life, notably her love of the beach. Family vacations to Edisto Beach were times she held dear, where she delighted in walking along the shore, collecting seashells. Her other hobbies included playing tennis at the Fermata Club, bridge with her friends, and Clemson Football games with the family. She also loved her furry friends.

She was united in marriage to her beloved husband, Donald B. Lewis, on October 15, 1960, at Trinity on the Hill United Methodist Church in Augusta. They moved to Aiken in 1961. Their union, which lasted until Donald’s passing in 2019, was a partnership grounded in faith and mutual love. Patsy was also preceded in death by her parents, David and Nora Johnson O'Neal and an infant brother.

Patsy leaves behind a devoted circle of family. Among those who survive her in addition to her loving daughter, Lynn, are her son and daughter-in-law, two grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, and her cousin Ann Reisinger.

The family would like to thank Trinity Hospice and Christy Randall for their excellent care of Patsy.

Memorial service plans will be announced later. The Rev. Bill Howard III will officiate.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to Bethlehem Lutheran Church, 902 Hitchcock Dr., SW, Aiken, SC 29803.
