Nancy S. Long

Nancy Still Cheek Long, 91, passed away Saturday, November 15, 2025 in her home.

A native of Bamberg County, SC, Nancy was a daughter of the late Cronie M. and Esther Lucinda Still. She formerly lived in Aiken and was a former member of Millbrook Baptist Church. She was also a former volunteer at Christ Central. She lived in North Augusta for the last several years and was currently a member of Sweetwater Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Long and a grandson, Shawn Wilhelm, who passed away on 03-08-2019. Nancy is survived by her daughter, Gayle Pecor (North Augusta, SC); her son, Danny (Trudy) Barnwell, SC. Granddaughters Lucinda, Swearingen (Chris) Aiken, SC, and Melissa Williams (JoJo) Barnwell, SC. Also surviving is her sister, Jewel Thompkins (Gaston, SC) and brother Raymond Still (Ocala, FL). Nanny had numerous nieces and nephews, 3 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great-grandbaby.

A graveside service will be held Thursday morning, November 20th at 11 o’clock in Southlawn Cemetery with The Rev. Dr. Paul Noe officiating. The family will receive friends in the cemetery following the service.
