Nancy B. Lawson

Nancy B. Lawson, 79, passed away Saturday, October 24, 2026, in the comfort of her home in Aiken, South Carolina.

Born on December 3, 1946, in Sandusky, Ohio, Nancy was the daughter of Omer Mason and Rachael Meyer Mason. Born into a military family, she spent her early years living in many places before the family briefly settled in Chicago, where she completed her high school education. She later attended the University of Rhode Island, where she studied dental hygiene and graduated, beginning a career as a dental hygienist in Middletown, Connecticut.

While in college, Nancy met the love of her life, William Lawson, Jr. Their marriage was a lasting and devoted partnership of 59 years. Together they made their home in Durham, Connecticut, where they lived for many years before moving to Aiken in 2017.

Nancy will be remembered for the joy she found in the life she built and in the things she loved most. She loved her horses and was formerly active in the driving community, an interest that reflected both her energy and her deep enjoyment of the equestrian world.

Above all, Nancy treasured her family. She is survived by her husband, William Lawson, Jr., and by her son, Michael Lawson of Aiken. She was preceded in death by her parents, Omer E. and Rachael Meyer Mason.
