MURIEL BRYSON WHITMIRE, 92, widow of James A. Whitmire, passed away Friday, May 21, 2021 at her daughter’s residence in Aiken, SC.
A native of Transylvania County, NC, Muriel was a daughter of the late Dewey and Winfred Reed Bryson. She lived in Aiken since 1950, was a homemaker and a member of Millbrook Baptist Church.
Survivors include three daughters, Gail D. Whitmire, Aiken, Shirley W. McCollum, Windsor, SC, Myra W. Eaves (Tom), Aiken; a son, James G. Whitmire, Greer, SC; grandchildren, Nathan McCollum (Billie), Erick McCollum (Emily), Adam McCollum, Adrian Gray, Lauren Sawyer, Katie Eaves, John Eaves; seven great-grandchildren and a great-great grandchild. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Aileen Riddle, MaryLou Orr and a brother, George Bryson.
A graveside service will be held Tuesday afternoon, May 25th at 1 o’clock in Blue Ridge Gardens of Memory, Pisgah Forest, NC.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Millbrook Baptist Church, 223 South Aiken Blvd., Aiken, SC 29803 or to the American Heart Association (www.heart.org)
