Mildred Lee Huff Taylor, of Aiken, SC, beloved wife of 28 years to the late Mr. William (Toby) Kenneth Taylor, entered into rest on Friday, July 24, 2026 at the age of 90.

She is survived by her children, John “Bull” (Jayne) Davis and Cathy (James) Cumbee; stepdaughter Sabrina (Randy) White; 7 grandchildren, and many great and great-great grandchildren; sisters Minnie Pearl Salters and Annie May (Billy) Kissiah; and nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband, she is preceded in death by her parents, John Samuel Huff and Carrie Ann Leach Huff Barton, her two daughters, Daisy May Walker and Ruth Ann Key, a step son, two brothers, two sisters, and ten step siblings.

Mildred was born on July 27, 1935 in rural Aiken County, SC. She was a member of Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church in Ridge Spring, SC where she enjoyed her ladies Sunday School class. She worked at Graniteville Company, Vaucluse division, for 35 years as a yarn spinner. After her retirement, she and her husband, Toby, enjoyed gardening, canning, camping, and spending time with family. And later in life she enjoyed shopping and eating with her siblings and children at Shealy’s BBQ and BJ Country Buffet.

Services will be held at Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church on Monday, July 27, 2026, Mildred’s 91st birthday. Visitation will be at 2:00 p.m., followed by the funeral service at 3:00 p.m. in the Family Life Center. Pastor Vollie Gibbs will be officiating. Interment will immediately follow in the church cemetery.

Pallbearers will be her grandchildren : Shannon Key, Sarah Feagin, Jay Cumbee, Jason Cumbee, and great grandchildren: Justin Key, Haileigh Yon, Abigail Cumbee, and Ashlyn Feagin.

The family extends its heartfelt gratitude to the staff of Crescent Hospice, especially Jessica and her team, and to Hands of Life Home Care, especially Ellen, for their exceptional care, compassion, and attention.

We also offer our sincere thanks to our devoted caregivers—Gladys Cullum, Nette Carnard, Brenda Smith, Alicia Cumbee, and Nancy Cumbee—for helping ensure that Mama’s final days were peaceful, comfortable, and spent in the home she loved. She loved each of you, and our family will always be grateful for the kindness and love you showed her.

Shellhouse-Rivers Funeral Home has been entrusted with the arrangements. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church, Ridge Spring, SC.
