WAGENER, SC – MILDRED SUE HILL GARRISON, 98, widow of John Clayton Garrison, passed away Friday, January 28, 2022, at her son’s residence in Loris, SC.
A native of Meigs County, TN, Mildred was a daughter of the late William Able Hill and Jenny Lenora Jackson Hill. She retired as a shoe inspector with Bata Shoe Co. in Aberdeen, MD. She was a former longtime member of New Life Church of God where she served as a musician, Sunday School Superintendent and church secretary. She moved to Aiken County in 2002 and was a member of Earle Church of God. She was an animal lover and raised Chihuahuas.
Survivors include five sons, John H. Garrison (Orangelee), Wagener, Ernest E. Garrison, Aiken, Jack B. Garrison, Aiken, Billy E. Garrison (Wanda), Loris, SC, James D. Garrison (Virginia Showers), Athens, TN; 9 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; 17 great-great-grandchildren; 10 great-great-great-grandchildren; two sisters, Frances Scruggs, Bradstown, KY, Nancy Hill, Warner Robbins, GA; a brother, Joe Hill, GA.
The family will receive friends Thursday, February 3rd beginning at noon at Earle Church of God followed by the funeral service at 1 o’clock. Interment will be in Darien Baptist Church Cemetery.
