Maxine Sullivan Stephens

AIKEN, SC – MAXINE SULLIVAN STEPHENS, 87, passed away Thursday October 14 at her residence surrounded by her loving family. She was preceded in death by her devoted husband, Mark Stephens. A native of Blairsville, GA, Maxine was a daughter of the late Barney and Florida Hood Sullivan.

     Survivors include three daughters, Janet Pendleton (Tom), Bryan, OH, Sandra Gossett, Aiken, Catherine Johnson (Martin), Aiken; her son, Greg Stephens (Jane), Aiken; eight grandchildren, Blake Usher (Catherine), Wes Usher (Karri), Chase Gossett (Julie), Lea Ann Gossett, Allison Johnson, Lauren Stephens, Gregory Stephens (Ashleigh), Andrew Stephens; and four great-grandchildren, Brooke Usher, Blaire Usher, Reilly Gossett, Mark Gossett.  In addition to her husband and parents, Maxine was preceded in death by her fourteen siblings.

     A graveside service will be held Sunday, October 17 at 2:00 PM in Southlawn Cemetery.

     In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to the Arthritis Foundation or Samaritan’s Purse.
