Mickie’s memorial service will be held on Saturday August 6, 2022 in the Faith Center at St. John’s Methodist Church at 104 Newberry St. NW, Aiken, SC 29801 at 2:00pm.

Mickie was born in Elmira, NY to John and Elsie McConnell and lived most of her childhood in Little Valley, NY. She worked her early years at the Cattaraugus County Planning Department and then made a career change to manage a ski lodge in Ellicottville, NY where she raised her three daughters. In 1983, Mickie accepted a position in the Communications and Publications Department at Westinghouse Nuclear Services Facility in West Valley, NY where she met Charles “Chuck” Seitter Sr.

In the early 1990’s, Mickie and Chuck moved to Aiken, SC where she worked the remainder of her career as a Public Communication Manager at Savannah River Site (SRS). They were married in Las Vegas at The Little White Wedding Chapel. Throughout Mickie’s career as an SRS spokesperson, she wrote local newspaper articles and speeches for the company regarding SRS activities. She also gave tours of the facilities to public officials and other prominent figures.

Music was a big influence in Mickie’s life. In her school years, she was an accomplished clarinet player. In her later years, she was also active in her church choir with singing, directing, and playing handbells.

Mickie was a life-long Buffalo Bills and Buffalo Sabres fan. She loved to watch professional golf and tennis. Mickie was an avid golfer for most of her life and enjoyed her home on Houndslake golf course in Aiken, SC. She also enjoyed time at the beach with family and friends.

Mickie was the beloved wife of Charles Seitter, Sr.; sister of Mollie McConnell (David Greene); mother of Shelly Bowan (Scott Donaldson), Sherry (Louis) Houff, and Shannon (Patrick) Scanlan; stepmother of the late Charles (Andrea) Seitter Jr., David (Patricia) Seitter, and William Seitter; grandmother of Ashleigh Bowan, Julia and Jenna Houff, Courtney Scanlan, Jocelyn Seitter (Jeffrey Hitchings), C. Scott Seitter, Melissa (Max) Most, Samantha Seitter (Garrett Kroner), and Nicole Seitter. Mickie is also survived by two great grandchildren, Cameron and Gavin Most and many other family and friends.
