Writing was always a passion of his and many of his articles about hunting and fishing were published in several magazines. Bud received the James Rion McKissick Journalism Award from the University of South Carolina. Along with his love of writing, Bud dedicated many years to coaching baseball and football for the City of Aiken. He was fond of his time spent on the fields with Pony League, Eustis Park, and the Pinecrest Falcons. Sports were a big part of Bud’s life, especially cheering on USC. Win or lose, Bud remained a diehard Gamecock fan...forever to thee. A Celebration of Life will be held at The Outing Club on Sunday, December 5, 2021, from 3:00-5:00 pm.
