Mary Kathleen King

Mary Kathleen King, age 76, passed away peacefully on June 29, 2026 in Augusta, Georgia.

Born in Berkeley, California, Mary was the daughter of George Leo and Kathrine King. She lived in California for much of her life before relocating to Aiken 15 years ago, where she quickly became a cherished member of the community in Kalmia Landing.

Mary possessed a lifelong passion for gardening, fitness, and athletics. She dedicated her early career to higher education, serving as the Athletic Director for Holy Names College in Oakland, California. Following her time in collegiate sports, she transitioned to public education, becoming a beloved physical education teacher for the Albany School District, where she inspired countless students to lead active and healthy lives.

She is survived by her devoted brother, George King, as well as extended family members and many dear friends who will miss her deeply.

In accordance with her wishes, burial services were held privately.
