Mary Dyches Kenney

AIKEN, SC - Mrs. Mary Dyches Kenney, age 99, passed away Saturday, August 20, 2022, at Shadow Oaks Assisted Living facility in Aiken. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert E. Kenney, and her daughter, Mary K. Hoehn.

She is survived by her daughter, Elizabeth C. Kenney; her grandson, Donald A. Shirley; her granddaughter, Mary Katherine Shirley; and four great-grandchildren: Jacob Reaves, Bryson Shirley, Seth Shirley, and Noah Shirley.

She was born in Aiken and lived most of her life there. She loved Aiken and was very knowledgeable about the history of the town and the people who lived there. She was a longtime member of St. John's United Methodist Church. She loved her church and actively participated in many church activities as long as she was physically able to do so. She was also a musician, playing and teaching piano. She will be missed by friends and family.

Memorials may be directed to St. John's United Methodist Church, ACTS, or the Salvation Army.

There will be a private graveside service for immediate family.
