Mary Ann Chelberg

July 17, 1946 — February 18, 2022

It is with a sad heart that we announce the passing of Mary Ann Chelberg, age 75, of Aiken, SC, on Friday, February 18, 2022, at Aiken Regional Medical Center.

A native of Ely, MN, Mary Ann was the daughter of Michael and Mary Evenocheck. She graduated from Ely Memorial High School and attended the University of Minnesota - Duluth where she studied theatre. She later went on to become President & CEO of Daily Printing, Inc., one of Minnesota’s largest printing companies; she retired in 1999 and then moved to Aiken, SC.

Mary Ann married the love of her life, her best friend and soulmate, John Robert “Bob” Chelberg in 1992. They were two-peas-in-a-pod – having the time of their lives together. They enjoyed daily lunch time cribbage games, spending time with family, traveling, relaxing at the cabin and just having fun.

Mary Ann raised three wonderful sons who she deeply loved and enjoyed being with. She was a unique and strong-willed woman who impacted and touched many people’s lives. She was known for her witty sense of humor and dirty jokes, her wise words and stories, her lucky gambling streaks, her love for animals and for being the hostess with the mostest. She loved movies, especially Dirty Dancing and action-packed films. She enjoyed golf, cracking funny jokes and puns, doing crossword puzzles, playing cards and games, hosting parties, watching fireworks and creating special events for her family and friends. She will be greatly missed by all that had the opportunity to know her.

Mary Ann is survived by her three sons, Jeff Prosen (Kris), Maple Grove, MN; Scott Prosen (Melissa), Saint Michael, MN; Matthew Prosen (Jessica), Aiken, SC; three grandsons, Jack, Tyler and Dylan Prosen; sister, Loretta “Dolly” Lorenzo, Tampa, FL; brother, David Evenocheck (Joyce), Cambridge, MN and several nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her husband, John Robert Chelberg; her parents, Michael and Mary Evenocheck; brother Michael Evenocheck; sister-in-law Karen Evenocheck; and brother-in-law Silvio Lorenzo.

A celebration of life event is being planned at a later date (TBD - spring/summer) where her family and friends can join in raising a glass to the one-and-only, unforgettable Mary Ann Chelberg.
