Martha Osborne Kidd

AIKEN, SC – MARTHA OSBORNE KIDD., 97, widow of George Franklin Kidd, passed away Wednesday, July 21, 2021 at Hitchcock Place.

A native of Lenoir City, TN, Mrs. Kidd was a daughter of the late Charles and Mary Elizabeth Watkins Osborne.  She was a former bookkeeper with McCrory’s 5 & 10 in downtown Aiken.  She was a member of Millbrook Baptist Church where she was active in the Sonshine Ladies, and at 97 was still witnessing for the Lord.  She was a former member of Marion Street Baptist Church and South Aiken Baptist Church where she taught Sunday School and was active in the GA’s.  Mrs. Kidd was a lady who loved the Lord and served Him well.  She always put the Lord and her family above everything else.

Survivors include her son, Benny Kidd (Nancy), Aiken, SC; Seven grandchildren; fifteen great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.  In addition to her husband and parents she was preceded in death by two daughters and a son, Margaret Romine, Brenda Redd, Scotty Kidd and two grandchildren.

The family will receive friends Sunday afternoon, July 25^th from 2 until 3 o’clock at Shellhouse – Rivers Funeral Home.  The funeral service will follow at 3 o’clock in the chapel with The Reverend Bill Howard III officiating. The service will be livestreamed at (https://www.facebook.com/srfhandsfh).  Interment will be in Aiken Memorial Gardens.
