Marianne Dyczewski Tansky, 68, passed away Saturday, December 20, 2025 following a long and courageous battle. She faced her illness with strength, dignity, and grace and is now at peace.
Marianne was born in Jersey City, NJ, daughter of the late Chester Dyczewski and Teresa Woronick Dyczewski. She spent nearly four decades in Aiken, South Carolina, where she cultivated many close and lasting friendships. She took great pride in creating a warm and welcoming home, reflecting her creativity, care, and thoughtful nature.
Marianne is survived by her beloved husband, Richard Robert Tansky; sisters Teresa Shanley and her husband Richard of Port Reading, NJ and Barbara Costides and her husband Nicholas of Milton, GA; sister-in-law Katherine Scharl (the late Karl Scharl) of Voorheesville, NY; nephews Christian Scharl and his wife Mina of Schenectady, NY, Scott Shanley and his wife Emily of Bridgewater, NJ, and Zach Shanley of Port Reading, NJ; niece Lisa Kutschman of Millsboro, DE.; cousins William Miller and his wife Deborah of Sanford, FL and Diane Salerno of Somerset, NJ. She was predeceased by her sister, Debra Englert.
Marianne will be remembered for her resilience, quiet strength, and devotion to her family. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
A visitation will be held from 11:00AM-Noon, with the Funeral Liturgy following at Noon at Shellhouse-Rivers Funeral Home, Thursday, January 15, 2026. For those unable to travel, the following link is available to view the memorial live: https://iframe.dacast.com/b/156599/c/585055.
Interment will take place in a private family ceremony at Beaufort National Cemetery at a later date.
