It is with heavy hearts that we announce the peaceful passing of Margaret Fraser Clark on July 10, 2026, at her cherished home in Aiken, SC after a courageous battle with cancer. Born on August 31, 1953, in Schenectady, NY, Margaret was a beacon of strength and compassion who touched the lives of all who knew her.

Margaret was the beloved daughter of the late John W. Fraser and Mildred Keller Fraser. She was predeceased by her loving parents, whose values of kindness and dedication she carried forward throughout her life. She is survived by her devoted husband, Paul Clark, with whom she shared 40 wonderful years of marriage. Together, they built a life filled with love and laughter, marrying on a crisp winter day, January 4, 1986, in Washington, DC. Margaret also leaves behind her brothers, Bruce (Barbara) and John (Jane).

Her journey in education began at Walter M. Williams High School in Burlington, NC, where she graduated in 1971. Margaret's passion for helping others led her to the nursing school at the University of North Carolina Greensboro, where she graduated in 1978 and became a Registered Nurse. Her dedication to the field of medicine was further exemplified through her completion of Operating Room Technology at the Bowman Gray School of Medicine at Wake Forest University that same year.

Margaret's career as a traveling nurse took her across the country, where she provided invaluable support to hospital operating rooms, always bringing her warmth and expertise to every patient and colleague she encountered. During this travel Margaret would meet and marry Paul while on assignment in Washington, DC and living in College Park, MD. After retiring from nursing, Margaret pursued a new interest, obtaining an Accounting Certificate from Front Range Community College in Denver, CO, in 1997. She worked as an accounting technician in various positions until her retirement in 2000.

A devoted member of the community, Margaret was an active participant in the Friends of the Aiken Symphony and, alongside her husband, was a proud race sponsor for the Aiken Trials. Her love for horses and commitment to equine welfare was unwavering, and she was particularly dedicated to supporting equine retirement and rescue organizations.

Margaret will be remembered for her boundless generosity and kindness, qualities that left an indelible mark on the lives of all who were fortunate enough to know her. Her legacy will continue to inspire acts of kindness and compassion.
