Mae Busbee Eubanks

December 3, 1927 — March 21, 2023

MINNIE MAE BUSBEE EUBANKS, 95, of Aiken, passed away March 21, 2023 after a brief illness at Edgefield Post Acute Care.

A lifelong resident of Aiken County, she was a daughter of the late John and Lillie Temples Busbee.

Miss Mae as she was called by many, was an active member of Shiloh Baptist Church from a very early age until her recent illness, prohibited her from attending.  She served as a Sunday School and Training Union teacher for many years.  She was also a member of the Bible Learners Sunday School Class.  When the church doors were open, she was there.  She also coordinated many bridal and baby showers at the church in her earlier years.  She retired from Roses Department Store after 24 years.  She began as a sales clerk and retired as an assistant manager.

Miss Mae always saw the good in everyone and would tell you why you should feel the same.  Her best times were spent fishing, eating fish, working in her garden and baking cakes.  But her absolute best time was spent with her children and grandchildren.

She is survived by sons, Donnie Eubanks (Judy), Cincinnati, OH, Billy Eubanks (Alane), Coco, FL; daughter, Barbara Burnett, Aiken; four grandsons, Dee Eubanks, William Eubanks, Michael Burnett and Alex Eubanks; two granddaughters, Nikki Baumann and Christine Belusko; fourteen great grandchildren and a great-great granddaughter; a brother, Delmas Busbee (Pat), Aiken.

She was preceded in death by her late husband, Heyward of 62 years; son-in-law, Chris Burnett; two brothers, Herman and Broadus Busbee and a sister, Diane Busbee Fulmer.

The family would like to offer their sincere thanks to Humana Home Health Care, Agape Hospice and Edgefield Post Acute Care, for their caring and professional assistance.

The family will receive friends Sunday afternoon, March 26th beginning at 1 o’clock at Shiloh Baptist Church.  The funeral service will follow at 2 o’clock with The Revs. Dr. Chris Masters and Taylor Wells officiating.  Interment will be in the church cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to Shiloh Baptist Church, 3925 Shiloh Church Rd., Aiken, SC 29805.
