Lynn Shilling Newton

Lynn Shilling Newton, died on October 15, 2026, at NHC Healthcare in North Augusta, South Carolina. She was 96.

Born on June 24, 1930, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Lynn was the daughter of Alynn and Margot Abbott Shilling. In 2006, she moved to Aiken, where she made her home and was a member of First Presbyterian Church of Aiken. Prior to her moving to NHC Healthcare, she lived at Trinity on Laurens and spent her time visiting residents and welcoming new residents as the self titled "Good Will Ambassador". Lynn had a sharp wit and vast knowledge of subjects and current events that allowed her to win many current event quiz prizes and empty the petty cash fund at Trinity on the regular.

She is survived by her son, Pete Eisenmann, Durham, NC and by her daughter, Jan Leighton, Peoria, AZ.

In addition to her parents, Alynn and Margot Abbott Shilling, Lynn was preceded in death by her grandson, Jason Eisenmann, and by her brother, Abbott Shilling.
