Lynda Williams Thacker

Lynda Williams Thacker, 65, beloved mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully on June 20, 2026, at Aiken Regional Medical Centers. Born on January 27, 1961, in Aiken, South Carolina, Lynda remained a steadfast part of her hometown throughout her life, enriching the lives of all who knew her.

Lynda was the cherished daughter of the late Robert Parks Williams and Evelyn Louise Williams and beloved wife of the late Coke Candler Thacker III, whose memory she carried with grace and love. Her own legacy continues through her sons, Coke C. Thacker IV (Crystal), Charlie Thacker (Erin) and Joshua Thacker. Lynda’s love for her grandchildren; Sandra Ann Thacker, Landon Thacker, Grace Thacker, Chloe Thacker, Lily Thacker, Logan Thacker and Ivy Rain was profound. She found immense joy in watching them grow, play, and learn, always eager to share in their discoveries. Also surviving is her brother, Robert P Williams, Jr, and three sisters, Phyllis Thomas, Bess Harrelson and Cathy Hallex.

A woman of warmth and generosity, Lynda was known for her friendly spirit and loving heart. She never hesitated to offer comfort and support, often acting as a surrogate mother to many who were fortunate enough to cross her path. Her conversations were vibrant and plentiful—she talked with enthusiasm and a genuine desire to connect, leaving friends and neighbors with fond memories of heartfelt chats and laughter.

Lynda’s passions helped define her life and her home. She was a voracious reader, always eager to immerse herself in new stories and knowledge, and she delighted in the quiet joy of gardening, nurturing both plants and people with patience and care.

A graveside service to celebrate Lynda’s life will be held at Aiken Memorial Gardens Friday afternoon, June 26, 2026 at 2 o'clock.
