AIKEN, SC - Lou Henderson Ellington, 90, wife of George Everett Ellington, went to be with our Lord and Savior on Sunday, February 6, 2022.
Born on July 27, 1931 in Augusta, Georgia., Lou was the daughter of the late Frank Henderson and the late Mary Elizabeth Boyce Kearney. After graduating from Tubman High School in Augusta, Lou went on to achieve her dream of becoming a registered nurse by graduating from St. Joseph ‘s Hospital School of Nursing in Atlanta. She spent many wonderful years as a Labor and Delivery nurse.
She eventually made a move to Houston, Texas. There she met her beloved George. Upon retirement Lou moved to Aiken, South Carolina where she lived for the rest of her life.
Mrs. Ellington is survived by her daughters Marian A. Royster (Billy) of Aiken, South Carolina, Elizabeth A. Reel of Fort Myers, Florida, Margaret A. Skukowski (Mark) of Tampa, Florida and her son Laurie G. Anderson III (Tanya) of Pearland, Texas. Grandchildren, William R. Royster IV, Matthew R. Royster, Phillip A. Reel, William D. Reel, James C. Reel, Kathryn A. Reel, Benjamin E. Burke, Ashlie M. Burke, Brandon L. Burke, Caitlin R. Hachigian, Meghan A. Cano, Kristen R. Anderson, and Laurie G. Anderson IV.and 12 great grandchildren.
Services to be held at a later date in Texas.
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested donations to be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, South Carolina Chapter.
