Lisa Jane Roberts

Lisa Jane Roberts, of Aiken, entered into rest on September 8, 2026 at her home with her loving family by her side. Lisa was born on January 10, 1951, in Bryant, South Dakota, to Dean and Marilyn Anderson. She was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith. Lisa graduated from Bryant High School in 1969 and from Augustana College in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, in 1973.

Lisa worked as a teacher in eastern Idaho, where she met her husband, Barry, on a ski trip to Jackson Hole with mutual friends. They were married on November 30, 1974, in Bryant. Throughout their marriage, Lisa faithfully supported Barry as his career carried them to Alaska, Indonesia, Iran, and Holland before returning to the United States. They lived in South Dakota, Idaho, and Washington before settling in Aiken in 1983.

Lisa devoted herself to being a homemaker and raising their three children, Ineka, David, and Jonathan, which was her greatest joy. She cherished her family and took great pride in the lives of her children and granddaughters.

Lisa is survived by her husband of 52 years, Barry W. Roberts; daughter Ineka (Andy) Pitt and granddaughter Lauren; son David (Caroline) Roberts and granddaughter Calista; and son Jonathan Roberts. She is also survived by her aunt, Virginia Cluts, and many loving cousins.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Dean and Marilyn Anderson, and her sister, Debra Anderson.

Final arrangements have been provided by Shellhouse-Rivers Funeral Home. The family extends a heartfelt thank you to Trinity Hospice and McLeod Home Care for the support and compassion they provided.

A Funeral Service will be held Friday morning, September 25th at 11 o'clock at St. Paul Lutheran Church with The Rev. Jeff Erbskorn officiating. The family will receive friends at the church following the service. Interment will be in Woodlawn Cemetery, Bryant, SD at a later date.
