Lisa VaKay Parker, 65, of Beech Island, South Carolina, passed upward on Wednesday morning, January28, 2026 after battling a long illness. Lisa passed quietly in the presence of her longtime partner, and caregiver, Kevin Frisby, also of Beech Island, SC.
Lisa was born February 7, 1960, in Dayton, Ohio, to parents, Dorothy Maxine Parker and Richard Kay Parker, as the first of their four daughters. She attended the Northmont School District, from which she graduated in 1978. Lisa then moved to Texas, where she was employed for many years as an administrative assistant for several high-profile computer tech companies.
She was preceded in death by both her parents, and her half-sister, Meleaha Stewart. Lisa is survived by her only child, Julie Cella of Dallas, Texas, and Julie’s family, spouse Mark Cella and daughters Carolina and Calais, who affectionately knew Lisa as LiLi. Lisa raised her “Bonus Boys”, nephews Caleb Stewart and Jacob Webster, from very young ages. Additionally, she is survived by her three younger sisters, Tracey Owens, Jill Neufer and Sallye Kessler. Multiple cousins, nieces, nephews, and lifelong friends join the family in both their grief and their celebration of Lisa’s spirit.
Lisa’s sisters and Kevin Frisby wish to thank the community of Beech Island, and their local friends and neighbors for the unwavering support given during Lisa’s life and illness.
The family will gather for a private ceremony of returning her ashes to nature later this Spring. For those wishing to donate in Lisa’s memory, please consider St Jude Children’s Research Hospital, @www.stjude.org.
