Linda Jeanne Cheadle

Linda Jeanne Cheadle, 76, passed away peacefully at her home Sunday, June 7, 2026, surrounded by her loving family.

Born on June 10, 1949, in St. Louis, Missouri. She was a member of the First Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) in Aiken.

Linda had a passion for playing the piano and also enjoyed engaging in card and dice games.

Her life was enriched by her beloved husband of 57 years, Jesse M. "Buzzy" Cheadle. Together, they nurtured a close-knit family that included their daughter Lisa Wahlmeier of Columbia, SC, and their son Jesse Kimbrew Cheadle, along with his wife Selena, of North Augusta, SC.

Linda was a proud grandmother to Sean Patrick Cheadle, Jr., Emily Cheadle, Melissa Hardy, and Troy Cheadle. Her joy extended even further to her great-grandchildren, Kimberly Cheadle and Katherine Cheadle. She is also survived by her brother Thomas Ronald Carson of Silver City, NM, and her sister-in-law Bonnie Carson of Williamsburg, VA.

Linda was preceded in death by her parents, Thomas Kimbrew Carson and Sue Jean Daly Carson; her son, Sean Patrick Cheadle; and her brother, John Michael Carson.

A visitation to honor Linda’s memory will be held Sunday, June 14th from 2:00 PM to 2:45 PM at Shellhouse-Rivers Funeral Home. The funeral service will follow at 3 o'clock with Pastor Irene Albritton officiating. Interment will be in Southlawn Cemetery.
