Linda Ann Findley, 84, passed away peacefully in the comfort of her home on Friday, November 7, 2025. Her family was present when she passed with her devoted husband of 65 years, Dean Findley, by her side.
Born in Anderson, South Carolina, Linda was the beloved daughter of the late Jack and Pauline Hawkins. She was a graduate of Girls High School in Anderson. In 1960, she married her high school sweetheart and lived in Columbia while he was enrolled at the University of South Carolina on a football athletic scholarship. Over their 65 years of marriage, they moved throughout the country and abroad with the U.S. Air Force and DuPont before finally returning back to her native South Carolina in 1986.
She was a graduate of Stratford College in Danville, Virginia with a degree in Early Childhood Education. Linda taught kindergarten for many years spending her later teaching years at First Baptist Church in Aiken, SC. She was a faithful member at Millbrook Baptist Church. She has served the Lord her God with gladness all the days of her life and is now home with Him.
She was a devoted wife, a loving and caring mother, an adoring grandmother, and a faithful friend.She is survived by her loving husband, Dean; son, Mitch Findley (Tammy); daughter, Heather Kaufelds (Kurt); grandchildren Ethan Kaufelds, Will Findley, Kyle Kaufelds, Patrick Kaufelds, Anna Findley, Faith Kaufelds, and Grace Kaufelds.
A celebration and service will be held Thursday, November 13, 2025 at 11 o’clock at Shellhouse-Rivers Funeral Home in Aiken, SC. The family will receive friends beginning one hour prior to the service. Private interment will be in Southlawn Cemetery.
