Linda Jeanine Brown

Linda Jeanine Brown, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and dedicated educator, passed away peacefully in the comfort of her home in Aiken, South Carolina, on August 22, 2026, at the age of 72.

Born on December 8, 1953, in Huntington, Indiana, Linda grew up in Selma, Indiana. Throughout her life, Linda embodied compassion, warmth, and service, nurturing those who were fortunate enough to know her.

Linda devoted 32 years of her life to teaching in public schools, leaving a lasting impression on generations of students through her commitment to education and her abiding patience.

A woman of deep faith, Linda attended Town Creek Baptist Church, drawing strength from her beliefs and faithfully participating in her church community. Her spirit of generosity reached beyond the classroom and church walls. During the COVID pandemic, Linda made hundreds of face masks which she gave out to those in need, embodying her lifelong commitment to the wellbeing of others.

She is survived by her loving husband of 18 years, Steven Brown; her sons, Kyle Beatty and his wife Amanda of Durham, NC and Ryan Beatty and his wife Heather of Indianapolis, IN; and her daughter, Shannon Majors and her husband Skyler of Anderson, IN. She was a proud and devoted grandmother to Cole, Amelia, Oliver, Theodore, Collins, and Arthur Beatty, and to Liam Majors. Linda's love and guidance will live on in each of them. She is also survived by her sisters, Kelli Ely of Muncie, IN, Kristen Williamson of Selma, IN, Lori Williamson of Muncie, IN, and brothers, Tim Williamson of Selma IN and Pete Williamson of Stockton, CA. Linda is preceded in death by her father, Ronald Garber; her mother, Catherine Stephens Garber Williamson; and her brother, Patrick Williamson.

Linda Jeanine Brown’s decades of service in education, acts of kindness, and unwavering devotion to family and faith have deeply touched the lives of all who knew her. Her legacy will endure in the hearts and minds of her loved ones, her former students, and the countless friends she made along the way.

The family will receive friends Monday morning, August 31st beginning at 10 o'clock at Shellhouse - Rivers Funeral Home. The funeral service will follow at 11 o'clock at the funeral home with The Rev. Clint Smith officiating. Interment will be in Southlawn Cemetery.
