Linda L. Becker

LINDA L. BECKER, 72, beloved wife of Steven R. Becker, passed away peacefully, in the early morning hours of Monday, January 8, 2024, at her residence.

     Born in Carroll, IA, Linda was the daughter of the late Ervin and Marilyn Jean Barrett Richardson. She grew up in Lake City, IA. and worked as an Administrative Assistant and Bookkeeper for more than 30 years. She lived in Aiken from 1988 until 1995 before moving back to Iowa.

     After retiring from the Laurens Municipal Light and Power in 2015, Linda returned to Aiken to enjoy her retirement with her family. Nothing brought her more joy than her children and grandchildren. Linda was very family oriented. She was also an avid cook and baker and enjoyed canning. She loved sharing this passion with her family. She was a member of St. Johns United Methodist Church in Aiken.

     Surviving is her husband, of 38 years, Steven; her son Adam Dial (Joni); her daughter, Elizabeth Basham (Michael), all of Aiken; four grandchildren, Brady Dial, Ansley Dial, Charlotte Basham, Gabriel Basham; sister, Judy Campbell (Jay), Concord, NC; brother-in-law, Stuart Becker (Tina), New Lenox, IL; sister-in-law, Susan Konz (Lee), Le Mars, IA. and multiple nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Linda was preceded in death by her brothers, John and Larry Richardson.

     A memorial service will be held Saturday afternoon, January 13th at 2 o’clock in the Faith Center of St. John’s United Methodist Church with The Revs. Dr. W. Timothy McClendon and Grayson “Butch” Blackwell officiating. A reception will follow in Ward Hall.

     In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to the Georgia Cancer Center (https://www.augusta.edu/giving/gacancercenter.php) .
