Mr. Liam A. Widvey, 75, beloved husband of the late Geraldine N. Widvey, passed away peacefully on Sunday, April 19, 2026 in his home.
Born in Wisconsin, Liam was born to the late Letitia F. Widvey and Arnold H. Widvey. On April 8, 1972, he married the love of his life, Geraldine, and together they made their life and home in Aiken, South Carolina.
Liam was known as a master gardener, carpenter, and Sheetmetal foreman. He lovingly cared for his camellias, azaleas, and his garden of annual flowers and vegetables, which he grew every spring. He had a tender heart when it came to his cats, Ellie, Bootsie, and his special boy, Scooter, who were with him as he passed. He built his home with his father in 1991 and built it to higher standards to ensure that it would withstand even a hurricane. Liam was a proud member of the Sheetmetal Union of America and taught the apprentices at Local 399.
A man of deep faith, Liam loved the Lord and lived his life guided by kindness, generosity, and a sharp, witty sense of humor. He touched many lives and will be remembered for the love he freely shared with his family and all who knew him.
Liam was preceded in death by his wife, Geri, and his brother, Arvid A. Widvey.
He leaves behind a loving legacy through his son and his wife, Jesse and Karla Widvey; granddaughter, Julie Alana Widvey; sister and brother-in-law, Alana and Tim Powell; and nephew, Daniel Powell.
He will be deeply missed, but his family has comfort in knowing that in heaven, he has reunited with his beloved wife, brother, mother, and father in the everlasting presence of our Savior, Jesus Christ.
The family would like to thank Shellhouse-Rivers Funeral Home for the kindness, care, and respect they have shown Liam and his family during this time.
