LEWIS ROBERT “BOBBY” SEABOLT, JR., 77, beloved husband of Roberta J. “Bobbie” Butler Seabolt, passed away Saturday, September 21, 2024 in his home surrounded by his loving family.
A native of Plymouth, NC, Bobby was a son of the late Lewis Robert, Sr. and Bertha Lee Russell Seabolt. His family moved to Aiken County in the early 1950’s where Bobby grew up in New Ellenton. He was drafted into the Army in 1966 and received his basic training at Ft. Jackson. He was then stationed at Ft. Mead until his discharge in 1968. Bobby was a pipe welder with the Plumbers and Steamfitters Local #150 before retiring on disability.
A natural born jokester, Bobby was the life of the party. He brightened every room with laughter and joy…always the clown. He loved his family and enjoyed cooking, especially a hearty bowl of his famous chili as the autumn chill swept through the air - an annual tradition dear to his heart.
Surviving, in addition to is wife of 56 years, Bobbi, are two daughters, Candy Seabolt, Aiken, Lee Brooks (James), New Ellenton; grandchildren, Chad Fields (Paige), Amanda Fields, Ashley Fields (Wil Edwins), Blake Ogden, Kaleb Ogden; great-grandchildren, Eli Fields, Alaina Edwins, Silas Fields; sisters, Mary Luther (Archie), Aiken, Diane Johnson (Donnie), North Augusta; dearest friends, Billy Cooper (Faye), Linda Young and his favorite fur baby, Sassy. In addition to his parents, Bobby was preceded in death by a brother, O.J. Seabolt.
The family will receive friends Wednesday evening, September 25th from 6 until 8 o’clock at Shellhouse – Rivers Funeral Home.
The funeral service will be Thursday afternoon, September 26th at 1 o’clock at the funeral home. Interment will follow in Southlawn Cemetery with Military Honors.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to SPCA Albrecht Center (letlovelive.org), St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital (stjude.org) or to the VFW Post 5877, 116 Midway Circle, Aiken, SC 29803.
