Judith (Judi) Schofield Mason entered into rest on July 11, 2025 in Augusta, GA.

Born November 26, 1939 in Cleveland, OH to Arthur Thomas Shofield and Hazel Vereeke Schofield, Judi lived in Athens, GA for 51 years, raising her family and working various jobs. She served as room mother for all three of her children during their elementary school years, making beautiful gingerbread cookies with the names of each child in the class. During the 1980s, she was a part owner and office manager of University Gymnastics Center before moving on to work as Promotional Director at McDonalds, where highlights of her tenure included representing the company riding an elephant in the circus and working annually at the Jerry Lewis telethon. She then worked for many years as activities director at Heritage Nursing Home and St Mary’s Hospital long-term care facility, where she especially enjoyed helping the residents plant and tend vegetables in raised beds built by a local Boy Scout troop. Finally, she worked at The Pearl Girls in Athens, making beautiful pearl jewelry and many wonderful and supportive friends. She was a breast cancer survivor.

Judi loved UGA gymnastics and was a supporter since the 1970s. She was a member of the Ten-0 Booster Club from its earliest days to its ending. She traveled to many UGA competitions all over the country with her family. She deeply loved the beach and looking for shells, especially with her granddaughter Caroline whom she loved more than life itself.

Judi was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Charles Frank Mason, and is survived by her brother Thomas Schofield (Donalyn), New Braintree, MA, her children Susan Kilgo (John), Edgefield, SC, James Mason, Jefferson, GA, and Julie Mason, Augusta, GA, her granddaughter Caroline Carter (Bradley), Johnston, SC, great grandson Colt Carter, niece Allison Blake Steel (Jan-Eric), NY/Scotland, and nephew Miles Schofield, Oregon.
