Joyce Valery Dabolt

JOYCE MARIE VALERY DABOLT , 80, widow of Richard James Dabolt, Sr., passed away Tuesday morning, October 7, 2025 in her home surrounded by her loving family.

A native of Alleghany County, PA, Joyce was a daughter of the late Golfred A. and Mary Cernuska Valery. She brought warmth and creativity into the lives of those around her as a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and homemaker and former art teacher after making Barnwell her home in 1973, finally ending up in Aiken her home since the 1977.

Joyce is remembered fondly by her three grandchildren, Patrick Beaver, Matthew Beaver, and Kylee Davis (Lawton Holbrooks), all of Aiken. She is also survived by her two brothers, Larry A. Valery (Wayne Martin) of Roswell, Georgia, and Mark Valery (Ann Marie)of Billerica, Massachusetts.

Joyce was preceded in death by her beloved parents and husband, as well as her three children: Gregory Paul Dabolt, Richard James Dabolt, Jr., and Michelle Phillips. Their memories live on in the hearts of her family.

The family will receive friends Wednesday morning, October 15th beginning at 10 o’clock at Shellhouse – Rivers Funeral Home. A Funeral Liturgy will follow at 11 o’clock by Deacon Alejandro Leguizamon.
