WARRENVILLE, SC – JOSEPH FRANK VERANT, 70, beloved husband of Betty Ann Puckett, passed away surrounded by his family, Thursday evening, February 23, 2022, at his residence, following an extended fight with cancer.
A native of Seattle, WA, Joe was a son of the late W. E. and Mildred McNair. He had made Aiken County his home since 1971 and worked with the Pipefitters Local 150 at the Savannah River Site. Joe was a good husband and a loving father and “Gramps”. He was an avid gun enthusiast and a true American Patriot, serving in the U. S. Army.
Surviving, in addition to his loving wife, Betty, include three sons, Joseph William Verant (Elizabeth), Cumming, GA, Frank James Verant (April), Warrenville, Jason Mal Verant (Kristy), Birmingham, AL; five grandchildren, Kaitlyn, Austin, Liam, Jenna and Parker; a brother, Denis Schwendemann (Emma), Seattle, WA; two half-sisters, Royal Ann Warren, Portland, WA, Bobbi Wampler, Washington State.
The family will receive friends Monday, February 28th beginning at Noon at Shellhouse – Rivers Funeral Home. The funeral service will be in the chapel at 1 o’clock with The Rev. Wes Holbrook officiating. Interment will be in Aiken Memorial Gardens.
