AIKEN, SC – JOHNIE MAY REID, widow of 1SG Robert E. Reid, US Army Ret., passed away peacefully in her home surrounded by her loving family, Monday May 31, 2021 on her 91st birthday.

A native of Johnston, SC, Johnie was a daughter of the late John and Pauline Yonce Randall.  She had lived in Aiken since 1970.  She enjoyed bowling and flower gardening and loved feeding and watching birds.  She was always willing to lend a helping hand and making sure no one ever went hungry.

Survivors include her daughter, Nancy Rich (Steve), Manning, SC; grandchildren, Melissa Rich (Andy), Aiken, Robert Rich (Christal), Aiken; great granddaughters, Mallory and Madison Rich; chosen grandson, Wyatt Bryan; sister, Helen P. Randall, Aiken; sister-in-law, Shirley Randall; chosen daughter, Linda Means (Gil), Beech Island: a niece and 3 nephews and longtime neighbors and close friends, Ed and Kitty Speed.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Cathlee Emmert and Mary Ruth Judy and a brother, F. J. “Randy” Randall.

The funeral service will be held Wednesday morning, June 2nd at 11 o’clock at the graveside in Sunset Memory Gardens.  The family will receive friends at the cemetery following the service.

The family would like to express special thanks to Encompass Home Health/Hospice, Circle of Love caregivers and very special mail lady, Kat who always brought a smile to mom’s face.
