Born on April 26, 1955, John's life was a tapestry of love, resilience, and a profound commitment to the things that brought him joy. He was a devoted husband, an ardent dog lover with a special affection for Pitbulls, a proud Navy veteran, a skilled golfer, an avid football enthusiast, with an undying loyalty to the Redskins, and an accomplished antique and memorabilia collector. However, his most cherished passion was undoubtedly his love for cooking.
John's culinary prowess was nothing short of legendary, a gift he honed during his time in the Navy and perfected throughout his civilian life. He shared this gift with boundless generosity, using his culinary skills to express his love and care for those around him especially, grilling his famous bbq ribs by pool.
His legacy of love extends far beyond the kitchen, as John was a friend to many. His warm smile, infectious laughter, and genuine kindness endeared him to all fortunate enough to cross his path. John's capacity for friendship knew no bounds, and he leaves behind a community of hearts he touched with his warmth and sincerity.
John is survived by his beloved wife, Mary Savelsberg, whose unwavering devotion, and love for him were a source of strength and comfort throughout their journey together. He is also survived by his children, John and Sean, and his stepchildren, Danny, Ginny, and Martha and his nephew David. His legacy lives on in the hearts of his grandson Ethan, and his step-grandchildren, Avery, Brady, Caitlin, Aiden, Reily, and Luke, who will forever cherish the memories and lessons he shared. He will be sincerely missed by his beloved dog Risa.
John now finds peace and solace in heaven as he is reunited with his parents, John Thomas Sr and Lilian Louise and sister, Susan, who have gone before him, their spirits forever intertwined in the tapestry of eternity.
John Savelsberg's life was a testament to the power of love, resilience, and the profound impact one can make through acts of kindness and generosity.
