John Adam Keda, Jr.

John Adam Keda, Jr. (age 76) passed away on April 25, 2026 at his home in Aiken, South Carolina. Born in Dearborn, Michigan, John grew up in Detroit and graduated from St. Mary’s Preparatory High School in Orchard Lake, MI in 1968. As a member of the St. Mary’s Junior Boys softball team, he won some of his earliest championship trophies. John married his sweetheart, Annalee Marie Keda (née Staley), in 1971 at St. Christopher Catholic Church in Detroit.

Friends knew John through his passions as a highly skilled golfer, league bowler, and gambler. Between these pursuits, he won dozens of events and championship trophies over many decades. He additionally earned the respect of colleagues and a distinguished service award for his 23 years working as Regional Manager for the General Tax Administration for the State of Florida. John was an avid traveller who enjoyed visiting diverse locations around the world–especially Las Vegas. His many journeys even earned him recognition as a Million Miler.

John and Annalee lived for many years in Lombard, Illinois before retiring in Aiken to a home right next to the golf course. Despite keeping busy even into retirement, he graciously found time to counsel friends, family, and acquaintances alike on both personal and financial matters. John’s gentle spirit, sharp insight, and great sense of humor will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

John is survived by his beloved wife of 55 years, Annalee, as well as family members Peggy Keda, Jeremy Campbell, Elaina Larson, and Kent, Paula, Drake and Rea Simons.

He is preceded by his parents, John Adam Keda, Sr., and Genevieve Keda, and his brother, Stanley Keda.

A service for John and Annalee will be held at 1:00 PM on Saturday, May 16, 2026 at Shellhouse Funeral Home (924 Hayne Ave., Aiken, SC 29801). The family will receive friends following the service. Flowers and memorial trees may be arranged through the Shellhouse website.
