John M. Ingelhart

John Matthew Ingelhart passed away at Aiken Regional Medical Center in Aiken, South Carolina, on April 11th, 2025 after some complications following a cardiac arrest. He was born on July 31st, 1961, in Fruita, CO, to John (Jack) and Edna Ingelhart. From there, he graduated from Basalt High School in June of 1978. John proceeded to attend Colorado Mesa University, where he studied Engineering and was part of the college wrestling team.

During this time, John worked with his father in construction, where he found his passion in carpentry and continued to do so. John opened his own business that worked on many homes found in Aspen, Colorado today.

Later in life, he drove a truck for Stevens Transport, earning his 1 million-mile safe driving award. He came off the road to be with his wife and happily found work at Woodside Plantation as a maintenance technician, where he could be back to building and creating again.

On August 9th, 2000, John married Jaylene Perkins in Rifle, Colorado and gained two sons, David and Russell Perkins.

John loved camping and fishing. His other passions were smoking meats in his smoker, painting miniatures and playing board games with his wife and grandchildren.

Overall, John was a good man, a strong carpenter, a hard-working man of many talents and a great Papa as his grandchildren called him.

He was preceded in death by his father, John(Jack) Ingelhart and his brother Jourdan Ingelhart. He is survived by his mother Edna Ingelhart of Denver, Colorado; his sister Janelle Dirstine of Denver, Colorado; his wife Jaylene Ingelhart of Ridge Spring, South Carolina; his son David and Russel; and all nine grandchildren.

He was well-loved and will be missed dearly.
